How to Execute Great Ideas! (3097 hits)

How to Execute Great Ideas!

We live in the information age. There are new ideas, great ideas, creative ideas, hot ideas almost every second on the internet. If you subscribe to any of the fabulous email lists, I’m sure you get an idea or two a day from the “gurus.” Not including me. (smile)

But seriously, with so much stuff coming at you via your email, voice mail, snail mail and social media – how do you keep up?
How do you not miss an opportunity? How do you leverage the internet to make it work for you instead of wearing you down?

Here’s what I do:

1. Quit running for towards the “new shiny” thing. Focus! Have a plan and strategy written and posted. Know what your overall objectives are and stick with them. No matter what the new “toy” – if it doesn’t fit with your strategy, delete it. You can hold yourself back by trying to run someone else's race. Stay in your lane and work your lane. There is enough opportunity for everyone. Do not fall for every new gadget, widget or email trick.

2. Be in the “hunt and gather” mode. Now that you know what to avoid – you must now know what to look for. Again, it’s all about your strategy – do you want to create visibility, more sales, build a brand online or get more speaking gigs.

Whatever your goals, objectives – learn to search out tools, tactics and partnerships that help you achieve them. Every time you read (scan), filter it through your mind and ask yourself, “will this help me with my overall master plan.” If not, delete. If yes, save it to a folder on your computer or put it in file folder for review later.

3. Blog about it. Yes! Even if the world doesn’t run to your blog, keep a blog of your favorite things that will move you closer to your ultimate goals. If you fill up a blog with other great blogs (in your blog roll) or Post about other great posts you read (with embedded links of the original post) – you’d be surprised on how this will get you TRAFFIC! And everyone needs traffic to reach goals for their business.
So, when you are getting too many emails and are on overload from reading too many blogs – go to your own blog (or create a new one) and blog about the information you’re learning. This is a great way to keep track of all your ideas in virtual memory – and at the same time probably helping someone else too.

Stay on the cutting edge. Don't be overwhelmed. Get a mastermind group to help you or a coach. This is not an option, it is imperative in the times we live in!

Those are great tips! Very helpful. Especially the part about "staying in your lane". Something that I have to remind myself all the time.

Blessings!
