BULLDOGS News: Exhibit Now Open - "Beyond Swastika and Jim Crow: Jewish Refugee Scholars at Black Colleges" (1504 hits)

Beyond Swastika and Jim Crow tells the story of Jewish professors who fled Nazism, came to America in the 1930s and 1940s, and found teaching positions at historically black colleges and universities. The exhibition explores the encounter between these scholars and their students, and their impact on each other, the Civil Rights Movement, and American society.

Exhibit Information:

Hours
Tuesday through Saturday: 10am - 3pm
Sunday: 1pm - 6pm

On view from February 25th to May 13th, 2012.
Tours available by appointment through May 27th.
Closed April 6th - 9th for Easter/Passover observances.


Tickets
Adults: $5
Children and students with ID: Free


Group Tours
To schedule group tours of 10 people or more, please call 601-977-7213.

There are many dining options in close proximity to the campus.


Directions
1-55 North or South to County Line Road. Left on State Street to first light; right onto West County Line Road to Tougaloo College entrance (approx. 1/2 mile).
