—A petition of nearly 25,000 signatures calls on the United States to put pressure on China through the U.N. to stop the practice of forced organ harvesting.
The petition, delivered on Sept. 26 to the office of Susan E. Rice, the United States ambassador to the U.N., also calls on the U.S. government to release any information it has about the involvement of Wang Lijun, the former police chief of Chongqing, China, who was just sentenced to 15 years in prison, in organ harvesting activities.
John Bolton, a lawyer and former diplomat, and one of Romney’s foreign policy advisors, was asked what the United States should do about the evidence that Chinese security forces have been overseeing the mass harvesting of organs from prisoners of conscience.
The allegations and evidence indicate that tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners, and to a lesser extent adherents of other persecuted creeds in China, have been blood-typed and then killed for their retail organs. The organs were often removed while the victim was still alive, after having been given an anaesthetic, the investigations indicate.
