WHY I TEACH CONTEMPORARY AFRICA, FIRST (788 hits)

Like everyone else in the world Africans live in the 21 century. Yet my students and many other people often possess a distorted image of Africa as a place where time has stood still. I have found that if I present images of contemporary Africa before teaching the history of Africa, my students will have a sense of comfort with the continent.
